AROSE is proud to have been awarded a Schools Pathways Program Grant from the Australian Government to launch the AROSE Virtual and In-person STEM Training and Awareness (AVISTA) program.
The AVISTA program is a national initiative designed to inspire the next generation of STEM professionals to help build a future made in Australia.
With $1.7 million in funding, AVISTA will engage students, parents, and teachers across Australia through hands-on learning experiences, immersive Virtual Reality (VR) technology, and provide direct insights into defence industry career pathways.
The program will provide:
- Free in-school shows across Australia, including regional and rural areas
- An interactive Virtual Reality (VR) platform
- Community engagement events
- Teacher professional development opportunities
A key focus of AVISTA is ensuring greater participation from Indigenous communities and underrepresented groups, helping to build a more diverse, STEM capable, and future-ready workforce.
Delivered in partnership with Fizzics Education, Gilmour Space Technologies, Gunggandji Aerospace, Illuminate FNQ, Joseph Banks Secondary College, Nova Systems and the University of Western Australia Defence and Security Institute, this initiative will help develop Australia’s STEM talent pipeline.
Minister for Defence Industry and Capability Delivery, the Hon Pat Conroy MP, said:
“The Schools Pathways Program and our partnerships with the industry and education sector are key to ensuring our students are equipped with the skills needed for the advanced and high-tech jobs of tomorrow.”
AROSE CEO, Leanne Cunnold, added:
“By directly illustrating STEM career opportunities, AVISTA will not only strengthen Australia’s future workforce and national capability, but also inspire the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.”
